So, I had some time over to finish my truck I "found" in my fathers collection of plastic fun.
In reality trucks have one use: transport things. Wargamers evolve this to many more things, this truck will be extracted, escorted, bombed, used as cover etc.
So, here it is, click to enlarge:

Insurgent Force
They are scary, bearded and generally unhappy with the world today. No, I don't think about live rpg people, but my force of insurgents! Some elements of them have been seen before, but never as a group. Click to enlarge.
Family shot, Melvin is glaring at me for not given permission to play with all the toys.
I had some GW resin bombs I thought would be perfect for hot spots.
The leaders, tufts to the front!
The heavy section. Lmg's have tufts to the back, rpg's are easier to spot, so no tufts for them.
Technicals, I picked up these pickups at a toy department in a supermarket.
The armour. Not sure if the insurgents could handle these, I might need some of Saddam's loyalists.
Mr. VIP and his bulletproof car, or so he hopes..
I got some US models left, why not make a small SOF team? You never know when you need them!

Middle eastern buildings 5 & US force
So, after sanding and painting the bases of the buildings, and adding a road section to give more room for the vehicles one can say the village is done. Wee! But I think it lack's all the fancy details like rubble and sign of people living there. This will be added later, as well as all the stuff in the market's empty square.
And I think I'll have to add more large buildings too as the chaps over at Ambush Alley Games are finishing their Fallujah- book now..

Family shot with Big Boss in the middle
Everything fits in a not too large box
I added soft patches under everything to protect the table and while transporting

Middle eastern buildings 4
So, I got a fair bit done on my little village, a friend came over to and in the remaining painting and glued the houses to 20x20cm bases, so they will fit each other any direction. Now to sand the bases and add the little things to make it come alive. The empty square will be a little market with a lot of fruit. We wargamers love fruit, don't we? I plan to add a big mosque in a big 40x40 square within walls with minarets, as well as more "outskirtsy" tiles.
Melvin is inspecting to make sure the alignment is accurate!
Challenger 2 - The beast is done!
So, here it is! It was fun to paint and build. And as any wargamer knows, a good base makes any model better, so I took an old wooden plant plate I have had for ages and slabbed on some filler and sand.

Old models
When visiting my parents for x-mas, I managed to rob my father of some old plastic kits, a flogger and an old truck, I even found an old Havoc heli I got when I was a kid. All in 1/72!
While still painting the challenger I assembled the flogger and the truck, it took a lot less time than the challenger!
So, here they are, awaiting paint.

Challenger 2
For x-mas my lovley fiancé got me a Trumpeter kit of the british mbt challenger 2, iraqi equipped and in 1/35! That is the biggest scale I have ever built a military model in. I liked how much more details there is in this scale.
With some paint, decals and a bit of sand on the base it will look quite good!
