The BIG book!
Yep, got it today, #293 of only 1000 copies hardbound in real fake leather, what's not to like? It's the limited edition of Total Warfare, the big book of Battletech rules.
Of course one can't get a book without models, so I got a bag of plastic bases and two of my favourite mech's, the vulture got a little reposing of the right leg.
I must mention that this was my first purchase from ral-partha and as a new customer I get a 10% discount code, which I didn't use this time (bigger order in the future perhaps..?), but in the package they had put a reminder note to me so I wouldn't forget about it! How many retailers do that? =)
Mad Cat and Vulture, in a handy 1/300 scale!
Comparsion of my clixy 15mm variant, it's almost as detailed though!

Tiny green man
I got inspired by this guy who painted up some 15mm barbarians, and thought I should give 15mm sculpting a try.
It truly looks liek crap, especially his hands, and he is a tad too large. The sword is just a quick stand in, and I will make a better one later.
Though you should know that I made this one in very bad lightning friday night, without any measuring, scetching or anything else.
Once again blogger shines with it inability to rotate pictures..

Mechwarrior tanks
Well, I have finished the bases for the rest of the mechs, and while that pasty vallejo stuff dried I touched up some thanks, these turned out rather good!
And a little preview of my very own Mad Cat, I will do a total repaint of this one, not just enhancing the paintscheme from the prepaint. After all, this "beauty" deserves a little more love than just a regular paintsplash.

Mechwarriors, based and painted
So, I have finished the basing, and did a little touch up on the prepainted models too. I did some washing, drybrushing and made sure not to cover the decals. Not too much difference, but the result speak for itself, doesn’t it?
I have a dead ugly brother!
So, here they are, from the puny PBI, to the gods of the battlefield, enjoy, click and get mechanized!
The whole family!

Mechwarrior
I got some inspiration from this guy, and decided that I needed some better bases for my old clicky mechwarrior models. I'm thinking of using the Flying Lead rules from Ganeshagames, and make some cool mechy weapons in their online weapon builder. Just love those ganesha guys, amazingly easy rules with endless possibilities. And for once I shall try to make good looking bases, the rest of the paintjob is almost done already, so I have no excuse not to.
So, here I am so far, I have a lot more models to base, but I began with these few:
As you can see, my table is a mess, just like it should be!

Cygnar magicians!
You know those figures you bougt on a whim, when you already had more than you could paint? As a result they stay in their blisters for a long time, or perhaps you started to paint them, just an undercoat or a little basic coloring?
These two ladies have been unattended for almost a year now, and just like that I suddenly thought that they would be really fun to paint!
As a little extra I figured I should try to make a little extra on their faces, and a little washing, blending, cursing and layering later, here are the results:

Cygnar group shot
Just a pic of my Cygnar army, still trying to figure out how to take good pictures, but I guess I just have no patience to wait for that sun to ever show again...

German fireworks
So, for no reason at all I decided to grab a couple of WW2 stuff in 28mm. I bought a box of german infantry and a couple of other things from warlord games, I also found a tamiya kit of a "stuka zu fuss" in 1/48 scale, should work fine with 28mm minis. Of course I couldn't keep my paws from hack away at the poor kit, and this is the result of the bombs:
Happy new year, Hans!

Stone walls
My brother gave me a bag of some white powder that mixed with water got into a sculpting clay. Not a miniature sculptors dream, but certainly a terrain makers! It dries in air and become very lightweight and sturdy.
I made some low stone walls as like bills, you never seem to get enough of these.
Thanks bro' and happy birthday!

British artillery
Next up for my british army is the artillery, I enjoyed doing these because the larger base that allows a little more diorama of the model.

Brittish infantry on the marsch!
So, finally I get something done. Last day at my summer work tomorrow, then a couple of weeks free to do nothing (or everything, yay!).
Now, I have finished my second flank company unit, along with some converted 95'th rifles... Yes I know, but if given the chance, why not?
One stand of flank infantry is based separately so I can use them and my rifles in 'Drum and Shakos' along with my prussians.
Next up: Assembling and painting my artillery, and then I'll get my hands on the centre company box, thats two more units of line infantry!
About then I hopefully will have gotten at least one battle of BP under my belt.
Now, the pictures!

The life of a ship 3
The ship is painted, the sails are added and I am currently making stuff to put on the deck, such as bags and barrels. Then I'll add some crew and even a cannon. I haven't decided on wether to make the masts permanent or to allow to remove to make shipping (hee hee) of the model more easy. If I set the masts permanent I can add more detail in adding ropes all over the ship. Thoughts?
I'll bother to take better pictures when this thingy finally get ready. But I am very happy with her so far!

Long time no see...
Lack of inspiration, lots of important "real life" thingies and a minor alien abduction has put this blog on hold for a while. But here is a little update at last!
I got my greedy fingers on a very fine book, namely Hail Caesar from Warlord Games, and thus my favourite DBA armies are getting an overhaul with some fancy leaders for a starter, the pictures are quite bad, but the light is lousy today, and I want to get on with this blog unless it will slip back into coma again.
Anyhow, enter the ancient Germans:
They all fit in this extremely handy little box:
On the painting table is the leaders of my Teutonic Knights, and later my Marian Romans, but that army are still not painted so don't hold your breath.
Oh, and every serious(?) gamer needs a dice tower, right? Here is my, themed for warmachine, although you probably can't tell from this picture.

(sorry for the angle of the picture, blogger seems to be unable to show this the right way. Splendid blogger.)
Hmm, I hear a ship nearby...

70's djungle men
Look what I found, right there on my table! I'd better paint them soon or they will get violent..
The M48 is BIG, I am used to ww2 tanks in 15mm and did'nt expect it to be that huge to the men around it.
This is skytrex minis by the way, a m48, a m113a us squad and a pack of 25 NVA.

Middle eastern buildings 3
The buildings are painted and I placed them on my desert board along some of my 20mm chaps to see how they matched. I must say that it turned out even better than I thought, enjoy:

Land ohoy!
I thought it was about time to get another section to my gameboard finished so I can put down a full 6x4 feet table. Just another "basic" sektion would be rather boring so I decided that I needed some more water. Perfect for beach assault scenarios and the water does not take overhand so I guess it will work fine for regular games too.
I cut, cut, cut and made a total mess, but the result is quite worth it! I shaped some rocks and put in place as well as a green half bridge I got in a model kit, then added a lot of filler and a mix of white glue and sand. Now it's time to dry, but then it is just to paint and add grass and water!
The blue lines is where I'll draw the water line.

I have added filler for the structure and the base paint, now I'ts just to find the white paint to finish them off!

Middle eastern buildings 1
As a junkie for new games I have been building a small force of USMC and a horde of random insurgents for the upcoming Force on Force by ambush alley games, and I naturally needed a few buildings as well. I recently got my greedy fingers on some superb foamboard, and cut and glued my way to a few buildings.
Now I will begin to add filler to the houses and then it's painting time! And as I can't keep to one thing at a time, I share the building with some general history dvd education:
Could this possibly have something to do with next project?

Kraut Reinforcements
Finished painting today, I really like the Hummel (looking heavy, Bruno!). The camera was in a bad mood today, so the pictures are not the best. I'll take the time to get a really good shot at my FOW's when I'll get my brother here with his kickass camera. Until then...
